Eggshell Powder Recipe

Eggshell Powder Recipe

A substitute for bones when using boneless meat is eggshell powder or a calcium supplement.

Here are the steps to make eggshell powder:

  1. Save eggshells as you use them.
  2. Rinse each shell thoroughly before storing.
  3. Keep the shells in a sealed container until you have enough to process.
  4. Bake the shells at 275–300°F (135–150°C) for 10 minutes.
  5. Allow them to cool completely.
  6. Grind them into a fine powder using a coffee grinder or spice grinder.
  7. Store the powder in an airtight container.

If you decide to transition from eggshell powder or calcium supplements to raw bones, make the change gradually. A sudden change may cause digestive upset. Here's how you can do that (link).
